Agents & automation
Workflow products and agents that take actions in other apps. Ranked by how much you can own, how many apps already connect, and how delegated the work is.
For an automation you may need to own, n8n is first: self-host it, call any model API, and you are not stuck waiting for a connector on a closed SaaS.
Best for: Automations you want to self-host or keep in your own stack.
If the two apps you need are already on Zapier, it is the fastest automation that does not ask you to run a server.
Best for: Business automations when the connector already exists.
When the workflow has branches and data to reshape, Make is the hosted tool with more control than a simple Zap, without self-hosting n8n.
Best for: Multi-step scenarios with routing and data mapping.
The other three are workflow canvases. Lindy is the delegated-agent option when the job is closer to an inbox than a diagram.
Best for: Repetitive inbox and operations tasks.
